Fractional quality management
Part-time quality management for plants that need the role covered but not full-time. Offered after a scoping discussion, not from a price list.
What it can cover
- Quality reporting: scrap and rework tracking, defect Pareto, first-pass yield, customer complaint records.
- Procedures and records: keeping inspection, non-conformance and corrective-action records consistent and reviewable.
- Audit and customer preparation: organising evidence, closing open findings, briefing the team.
- Supplier and customer quality communication where the plant wants a single point of contact.
Conditions that are agreed first
Authority. What the role may decide, what needs the plant manager, and how disagreements are settled.
Site access. How much of the work is on site, how often, and what can be done remotely on your approved records.
Sector fit. Regulated sectors with specific certification requirements are only taken on where the required competence is in place; otherwise the engagement is declined.
Scope. A written list of responsibilities, hours per week or month, and how the arrangement ends.
Process settings, product conformity decisions and regulatory sign-off stay with the client's qualified staff unless the agreement explicitly says otherwise.
A sensible way in
Most plants start with a data review. It shows how the quality records actually behave and makes the scoping discussion concrete.
